Fairfield City Council – The council voted to apply for an AWC Loss Control grant in the amount of $1,000. The money would be used to repair sidewalks. The council also discussed applying for a grant through Foundation Northwest to pay for new siding and windows on the community center. (Source: City Clerk Sue Adams)

Fire District 8 – Residents of the Ponderosa neighborhood made a presentation about access concerns they have with a planned development in their neighborhood called Broadmoor Estates North. There is only one road into the area, plus an emergency access road with a locked gate. The commissioners directed the fire chief to write a letter to the planning commission detailing the concerns. Commissioners also had a brief executive session to evaluate the work of the new fire chief, Bill Walkup, and voted to take him off probation. (Source: Deputy Chief Dan Blystone)
