Randy Repp has lived on the same little hill for almost all of his 48 years.

His first home was a tiny family farm house, then a modular home he brought in to replace it. Now, it’s a rancher-style house he and his wife Debbi had built three years ago.

For the new home, they considered a new location but stuck with the three-acre parcel in the middle of the 5,000-acre Repp family farm where Randy and two of his brothers now raise wheat, barley, peas and short-horn cattle.

Living on the hill is a tradition, just like the farm itself, which was homesteaded by Randy’s relatives several generations ago.

The house might be remote, but it’s just a short commute to the family’s 12-year-old catering business which is just a quick walk down the driveway.

“Our work life is very hectic and fast-moving all the time and it’s just wonderful to have a restful, calm place to come and relax,” Debbi says.

Large windows all around the home allow the Repps to see far out into their wheat fields in front of the house and into the spacious yard they’ve landscaped in the back.
