‘Junie B. Jones’ auditions scheduled
The Spokane Children’s Theater is holding auditions for “Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business” Aug. 15 and 16 at 7 p.m. in the Lair Auditorium of Spokane Community College, 1810 N. Greene St. The play is part of the theater’s 60th-anniversary season and will open Oct. 8 and play on weekends only through Oct. 21, plus a morning performance on Oct. 18. It was written by Joan Cushing, based upon the popular children’s books by Barbara Parks.
Dawn Taylor-Reinhardt, the play’s director, is looking for six adults – two men and four women over 18 who like to sing.
Potential actors are asked to bring their own sheet music and be dressed to do some movement.

Student musicians are needed by the Spokane Symphony Orchestra to form chamber music ensembles and work with guest artists and symphony musicians.

Kudos
Ruth Pearson and her late husband, Roy, are the 2005 recipients of the Bravo Award presented every year at Allegro’s Royal Fireworks Concert.
The award is presented by Beverly Biggs and David Dutton and honors individuals, groups or corporations for their contributions to the arts in Spokane.
The Pearsons have been longtime supporters of the Spokane Symphony, Allegro, Spokane Opera, Interplayers and Civic Theater.
Classes and workshops
Monart Drawing School is offering day camps for children ages 4 and 5 who want to draw.
The theme of the class Aug. 16 through 18 will be “Bear-y Fun Week” and will be offered from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or from 1 to 3 p.m. and will be held at Spokane Art Supply, 1303 N. Monroe St.
The cost is $65, and registration is required.
