As for Marilyn’s supposed suicide, some like it not

Marilyn Monroe was anything but suicidal before her death 43 years ago, based on her secret confessions to a psychiatrist, a former prosecutor says.

“There was no possible way this woman could have killed herself,” John Miner says. “She had very specific plans for her future. She knew exactly what she wanted to do.”

Conspiracy theories about Monroe’s Aug. 5, 1962, death at age 36 – ruled a “probable suicide” – have become part of her legend.

Miner, 86, believes the large dose of barbiturates found in her body may have been administered by someone else.

The former head of the Los Angeles County district attorney’s medical-legal section says his notes of audiotapes made by Monroe’s psychiatrist show a motivated actress who wanted to do Shakespearean plays and promised that she had thrown all her “pills in the toilet.”

The notes also show Monroe alleging she had a one-night stand with Joan Crawford and saying there was “no room in my life” for Robert F. Kennedy.

He was just driving in Denver

Musician Marc Cohn has been released from the hospital after being shot in the head during an attempted carjacking following a performance in Denver.

Cohn, who had a hit with the song “Walking in Memphis” and won the Grammy for best new artist in 1992, was struck in the temple Sunday night when a man fired into his band’s van in a parking garage.

“Frankly, I can’t tell you how he survived,” a police spokesman said.

Cohn’s wife is ABC news reporter Elizabeth Vargas.

Maybe he should stick to BMX

Rapper DMX has been charged with violating a plea agreement approved after he drove through an airport parking gate last year while high on Valium.

One week after his sentencing in December, DMX (aka Earl Simmons) was charged with driving 104 mph near his Westchester County home. And on April 15, he was arrested after a three-car accident that injured two police officers driving in an unmarked car.

He faces up to one year in jail if a judge determines the incidents violated the conditions of his earlier release.

At least he has some grasp on reality

Yes, Tommy Lee said of ex-wife Pamela Anderson in People magazine: “We’re crazy in love. We’re going to take things slowly and see where they go.”

But, no, they don’t plan on getting married again, Lee told Jay Leno on Monday’s “Tonight Show.”

“You know, we’re stuck together forever. We love each other dearly, and we have two beautiful kids,” said Lee, whose new reality series, “Tommy Lee Goes to College,” debuts Tuesday. “But as far as getting married or engaged, I’m not engaged or married.”

When it comes to David, that window is closed

Musician Melissa Etheridge, who’s apparently beaten breast cancer following a yearlong battle, says she and her partner, actress Tammy Lynn Michaels, are considering having a baby.

Etheridge shares custody of a daughter and a son with former partner Julie Cypher, who had the children through artificial insemination using a sperm donation from fellow rocker David Crosby – who won’t be involved this time.

Says Etheridge: “David has been there and done that.”
