Variations on quote

A story in Friday’s IN Life section quoted Gen. Douglas MacArthur as saying “We will return” after leaving the Philippines in 1942. The quote often is reported as “I shall return”; while MacArthur clearly used the word “I,” official sources disagree over whether he said “shall,” “will” or both at different times.

NIC programs unclear

North Idaho College is adding three professional-technical programs this fall: landscape technology, human resources assistant, and outdoor recreational vehicle repair. Due to an editing error, a Friday story incorrectly stated the courses would be offered online.

Bogert second in primary

Due to a reporter’s error, a 2002 election result was misstated in an article in Friday’s editions; Michael Bogert placed second in the four-way GOP primary for Idaho attorney general that year.
