Cathedral plans organ concert

The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. Grand Blvd., is presenting an organ concert Sunday at 4 p.m.

The cathedral’s associate organist, Herb Severtsen, will play hymns, music from Bach and Vierne, two pieces to honor the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and improvisational pieces on both piano and organ.

Before the concert, the church is opening its doors for tours from noon to 4 p.m.

Judaica display

Beged Ivri, a Levitical ministry that researches and restores ancient Israelite customs, is presenting a seminar and display Monday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Shilo Inn, 923 E. Third Ave.

The seminar will feature Reuven Prager, who will discuss biblical garments, oils and other items.

Missionary speaker

Heritage Congregational Church, 1801 E. 29th Ave., is presenting speaker Kristen Olson on Sunday during the 10 a.m. worship services.

Olson will talk about her mission work at the Centro Educativo Eirene Mission School in Santa Ana, Guadalajara, where she serves as director.

Lincoln Heights Congregational Church, 3527 E. 29th Ave., is presenting a service of music Sunday at 11 a.m.

Leslie Stratton Norris, a harpist, will play during the service.

Outdoor worship

The congregation of Central United Methodist Church is celebrating worship at Liberty Park on Sunday at 10 a.m.

The service will be followed by a potluck. The church will honor staff members Jana Kifer, Ed Poblete, David Denman Smith and Michael Gray.

Anyone attending is asked to bring a dish to share and to be ready to sing.

All Nations Warriors for Christ is presenting its monthly meeting Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Central Seventh-day Adventist Church, 828 W. Spofford Ave.

Vacation Bible school

Green Bluff Community United Methodist Church, 9908 E. Green Bluff Road, Colbert, is offering vacation Bible school starting Monday.

Kids ages 3 through the sixth grade are invited to come at 6 p.m. to register.

The class will be from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. and will run through Friday.
