Old Time reunion Saturday

Paul Delaney Correspondent

Racers from years past will once again gather this Saturday to remember the old days when another edition of the Old Time Racer’s Reunion takes place Saturday at Nine Mile Resort.

Organizer Sally Gorder reports the event begins at 10 a.m. and goes until “whenever.” Gorder asks that those wishing to attend bring an entrée or desert, utensils and their own drink.

Knowing how racers love to talk about the past and still try to reverse a close decision by the flagman at the finish-line, don’t just bring lunch, but dinner, a sleeping bag and tent.

“Now is the time to pull out all your old pictures and racing memorabilia to reminisce about the good old days,” Gorder said in a news release on the event.

Gorder has said in the past the picnic has attracted racers from as far away as Alaska. Her late husband, Bud Gorder, was a longtime racer in the area.
