Sounds like he’s sick and tired of the whole thing
Eminem has canceled his European tour, citing exhaustion and other medical issues. The tour was supposed to kick off Sept. 1 in Hamburg, Germany, and end Sept. 17 in Dublin, Ireland. There were 10 concerts scheduled.
“Eminem is currently being treated for exhaustion, complicated by other medical issues. The shows are not expected to be rescheduled,” said a statement from Interscope Records.
His publicist, Dennis Dennehy, said he had no further information on the best-selling rapper’s condition and couldn’t say whether he was hospitalized or what other medical issues he had.
Eminem, 32, wrapped up his summer “Anger Management Tour” with rappers 50 Cent and Lil Jon on Saturday with performances in his hometown of Detroit.
Last month, he denied a report that said he was planning to retire after releasing four multiplatinum albums, including his latest, “Encore.” But he did say he might be taking a break from making music to produce albums by other artists.
She’s got a lot of guts
One year later after her infamous lip-synching debacle, Ashlee Simpson may return to “Saturday Night Live.”
The appearance as host and performer would coincide with the October release of her new album, “I Am Me.”
“It’s not confirmed yet, but I want to do it,” she told Billboard magazine.
Simpson blamed last year’s fiasco involving a prerecorded tape gone awry on acute indigestion that robbed her of her voice.
What, Ashlee cheat?
Meanwhile, teen girls across America are buzzing about a line in Ashlee Simpson‘s new song “Boyfriend,” in which she sings: “I didn’t steal your boyfriend.”
Is that a response to Lindsay Lohan, who has accused Simpson of wooing away actor Wilmer Valderrama?
“It’s not about one person in particular, it’s just something every girl can relate to,” Simpson says.
How about Ashlee vs. Lindsay?
For his part, Wilmer Valderrama, best known as Fez on “That ‘70s Show,” will host a trash-talking competition series, “Yo Momma,” set to air on MTV next year.
Valderrama, 25, will go into different neighborhoods to find the most astute trash-talkers. The top two contestants each day will compete for a cash prize and bragging rights, as well as the opportunity to move forward in the tournament-style competition.
Visited by an Angelina
On a more sophisticated note, a trip to Kenya by Angelina Jolie and United Nations adviser and economist Jeffrey Sachs will air Sept. 14 on MTV as part of the cable music network’s “Diary” series.
The show will follow their trip to Sauri, a remote group of villages in western Kenya where Sachs’ U.N. Millennium Project team is working to end poverty, hunger and disease.
Jolie, a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, recently adopted a daughter, Zahara Marley, from Ethiopia. She has a 4-year-old son, Maddox, who was adopted from Cambodia.
