• Weddingsolutions.com did a survey about weddings styles: 36 percent of the respondents reported that they were having a “formal” wedding, as opposed to “informal” weddings (23 percent), “themed” weddings (22 percent), “destination” weddings (15 percent) and “elopement” (3 percent).

• Spokane wedding consultant Nancy Pierce had one nightmare experience: “I had an older couple getting married. It was his third, her second, and they weren’t talking on the day of the wedding, and even the minister didn’t really want to marry them because he figured that they were going to be in divorce court next.”

• Spokane wedding planner Tina Bishop had her own bad experience: “We had a wedding in the Opera House, and they sent out the response cards, and they got so many back. And the day of the wedding, she called me. She actually had another 20 that she got in the mail that day. They were out of food within 30 minutes. It was just horrible. If you don’t have enough food, you look like you’re cheap. If you have too much, you’ve overspent.”
