Grigsby falls at Junior Amateur

LYNDEN, Wash. – Nicholas Grigsby of Spokane Valley lost in the championship match at the 51st PNGA Junior Boys’ Amateur Championship at Homestead Farms Golf Resort.

Tacoma’s Anrew Yun birdied the 30th of 36 holes to open a two-shot lead and beat Grigsby 2 and 1.

Yun and Grigsby combined for 14 birdies in the opening 18 holes and were all square at that point.

Yun then put together an impressive run of par-birdie-birdie on holes 25-28 to move to 3-up.

Grigsby countered with birdies on 28 and 29 to move back within one, but Yun answered with his birdie at 30.

Both players halved the remaining four holes with par-birdie-par-birdie, giving Yun the victory.

Grigsby is a senior at Central Valley High School this fall.
