Lena A. (Kuonen) Clark Scott is celebrating her 100th birthday today. She was born Aug. 26, 1905 in Little Rock, Ark., and has been a resident of Eastern Washington for 90 years.

She married Elmer Clark in 1937. He died in 1964.

With Clark, she has three daughters: Louise Wells, Greenacres; Patricia Shaffer, Mead; and Elaine Cole, Spokane Valley. She also has 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She married Walter Scott in 1980. He died in 1989.

Her most rewarding life achievement was the help she gave to run a farm, raising her daughters and taking care of her many grandchildren.

Scott said clean living has helped her live a long and healthy life. She also attributes healthy eating habits, such as eating lots of vegetables.

Her most memorable moment in the past 100 years was the election of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the job he did for the nation after the Great Depression.
