O’Brien lifts Prep with double-double
Corinna O’Brien recorded a double-double with 24 points and 10 steals to lead Gonzaga Prep’s girls basketball team to a 57-41 non-conference win over host Moscow on Wednesday.
O’Brien, who hit eight shots from the field and was 8 of 8 from the line, also had six assists. Amy Esmay contributed with 11 points for the Bullpups. Kelsey Taylor led the Bears with 16. … Lauren Brunko and Alisha Puckett combined for 34 points to push Timberlake past visiting Clark Fork 34-25 in a non-conference contest. Brunko hit 6 of 9 shots from the field and Puckett added five assists and five steals. Kelly Kincella went scoreless but grabbed 10 rebounds for the Tigers. … Kellogg junior varsity jumped to a 20-8 halftime lead and held on for a 33-21 win over host Mullan. Cody James led the Wildcats with six points, and teammates Brittany Donnenoith and Kelsey Harden added five points apiece. Four players scored for the Tigers, including eight points from Bev Hammond.
Boys basketball
Junior Hunter Chance scored 12 points in Clark Fork’s 42-31 non-conference win over host Timberlake. The Wampus Cats held the Tigers to 13 first-half points.
