Boucher nearly outscores Colville

Lakeland’s Brigitte Boucher equaled Colville’s team scoring total with 20 points and pulled down 13 rebounds as the Hawks routed Colville 61-20 in a non-league game Friday night at Rathdrum.

Natalie Nichols added six points, eight assists and five steals for Lakeland (4-1), who led 35-13 at halftime. Shayd Urhausen led the Indians (0-1) with seven points.

In other non-league action, Ashleigh Mire scored 17 points and Kendal Burt added 14 as Sandpoint defeated visiting Newport 62-47 in a non-league game. Mire hit four 3-pointers for the Bulldogs (4-0), who opened a 17-6 first-quarter lead over the Grizzlies (0-1). … Amanda Whitley had 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead Chewelah to a 51-36 victory at Priest River. Brooke Schanzenbach scored 13 points to lead the Cougars (1-0), while Tabitha Clark had nine points and five steals for the Spartans (0-3). … Jessee Rouse scored 18 points and Kerry Blake hit a key 3-pointer in the closing minutes as St. George’s held off host Kittitas 48-44. Rosie Martinez added 10 points for the Dragons (1-0), who led 27-15 at halftime but trailed by one point before Blake’s 3-pointer. Stephanie Misslin led the Coyotes with 17 points. … Jennie Harp scored 14 points and Andrea Cuch added 12 as Odessa defeated visiting Soap Lake 47-39 in overtime. Odessa (1-0) outrebounded Soap Lake 36-19 and held the Eagles without a field goal in overtime. … Stephanie Turner had 16 points and 10 rebounds as Dayton defeated host St. John-Endicott 63-52 at St. John. Rachel Gundy scored 14 points for the Panthers.

Chelsi Pakootas hit a 3-pointer with 15 seconds remaining to give Inchelium a 61-60 upset over Curlew in the first round of the Northport Tip-Off. Pakootas’ shot gave the Hornets a two-point lead, then Curlew’s Sasha Hall hit 1 of 2 free throws for the final margin of victory. Pakootas had 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists and Steven Carson added 14 points and nine rebounds for the Hornets (1-0). Amanda Grumbach and Nichole Miller each scored 18 points to lead Curlew (0-1), which finished third in last season’s State B tournament and graduated just one senior. … The game between Northport and St. Michael’s wasn’t reported.

“The game between Liberty and Rosalia was postponed until Jan. 24 because of inclement weather. … Republic and Tonasket will face off Dec. 22 after weather forced the game’s postponement.
