Kissler awards grant to St. Vincent
St. Vincent de Paul recently received a $1,000 grant from the Kissler Family Foundation Philanthropic Gift Fund through the Idaho Community Foundation.
The money will be used to support general costs associated with the group’s X-CEL Program, an after-school homework and tutoring club that provides a safe academic environment for at-risk youth.
•The Kootenai County Sheriff deputies assigned to the city of Hayden and Community Policing Partners recently gathered and donated more than six pickup loads of food and $974 to the Helping Hands Outreach Program Food Bank at Real Life Ministries in Post Falls.
Citizens have been referred to the Helping Hands Outreach Program since the Hayden Food Bank closed its doors Oct. 1.
•Northwest Specialty Hospital in Post Falls has donated $150,000 to North Idaho College to help support student scholarships and technology and equipment for the Nursing and Radiography Technology labs in the new NIC Health and Sciences Building.
The new NIC facility opened at the start of fll semester, and nearly 3.5 million has been raised from more than 380 donors through the NIC Providing Opportunities-Fulfilling Dreams campaign.
•The North Idaho College United Way fund-raising campaign committee has donated more than $9,500 to United Way of Kootenai County.
Funds for the award were raised during the recent NIC annual United Way Chili Cook-off.
