SEATTLE – Back in his hometown, Jamal Crawford scored all of his season-high 31 points in the second half, and the New York Knicks rallied for a 104-101 win over the Seattle SuperSonics on Tuesday night.

Crawford (Rainier Beach High) was 8 of 11 from the field and made 11 of 12 free throws in the second half, as the Knicks won the opener of a three-game West Coast road trip.

Rookie Channing Frye added 18 points and Stephon Marbury had 16. Nate Robinson, also a Seattle native, added 10.

Crawford’s 3-pointer with Ray Allen’s hand in his face gave him 25 points and the Knicks a 94-86 lead with 2:35 left.

Allen scored seven straight, before Crawford’s scoop shot in the lane gave the Knicks a 98-93 lead with 1:18 remaining. Vladimir Radmanovic made a 3-pointer for Seattle, but after Marbury’s miss, Allen made a bad pass on the Sonics’ next possession.

Marbury made a 23-footer with 26 seconds left. Rashard Lewis and Crawford exchanged free throws, and Radmanovic’s fifth 3-pointer got Seattle to 102-101.

Crawford made another pair of free throws and Allen missed a 3-pointer with 5 seconds left.

Allen led Seattle with 23 points but continued to struggle with his shooting, going 9 of 28. The Sonics failed in their second chance this season to eclipse the .500 mark.
