NFL week 15

Terry Bannon Chicago Tribune

Bucs (9-4) at Patriots (8-5)

Time: 10:30 a.m. TV: Fox 28

Line: Off.

Last meeting: Bucs won 21-16 at New England on Sept. 3, 2000.

Key stat: Bucs are 5-2 on road.

Fantasy factor: Tampa rookie Cadillac Williams has averaged 102 yards rushing last 4 games. Pats’ Corey Dillon has rushed for at least 88 yards in 5 of last 6.

The buzz: Williams and Pats defense are both improving, so something will give. New England is quietly improving as playoffs approach, having won 4 of last 5.

Chiefs (8-5) at Giants (9-4)

Time: 2 p.m. TV: CBS

Line: Giants by 3.

Last meeting: Giants won 13-3 at Kansas City on Sept. 23, 2001.

Key stat: Chiefs lead NFL in total offense (380.9 yards per game).

Fantasy factor: Chiefs’ Larry Johnson continues to improve – 10 TDs, 142 yards per game in last 6. Giants’ Tiki Barber 2nd in NFL with 1,357 rushing yards.

The buzz: If Giants’ Eli Manning, who has had tough second half, can make big pass plays, Giants should control game. If not, Chiefs offense will take over.

Broncos (10-3) at Bills (4-9)

Time: 5:30 p.m. TV: ESPN

Line: Broncos by 9.

Last meeting: Broncos won 28-23 at Denver on Sept. 22, 2002.

Key stat: Broncos 2nd with turnover differential of plus-18.

Fantasy factor: Denver’s Jake Plummer has thrown 16 TD passes vs. 6 interceptions. Bills’ Lee Evans has 5 TD catches in last 5 games.

The buzz: Broncos can clinch playoff berth with a win, but real goal is No. 2 seed in AFC. Bills going with backup QB Kelly Holcomb, who could provide a spark in place of injured J.P. Losman.
