The Big Sky has never been one of the most prominent conferences in the nation, but longtime observers don’t recall a year as down as this: 28th out of 32 in league RPI rankings. … Sky teams are 44-58 out of conference, including 0-13 against West Coast Conference teams, 0-6 against the Pac-10 and 5-7 against the Big West. … Portland State’s Will Funn is second in the nation in assists (7.4). … Portland State ranks fifth in shooting (.510), with Big Sky leader Seamus Boxley 18th (.605). … All eight Sky teams are either 3-2 or 2-3 in the last five games. … In ESPN Bracket Buster games on Feb. 19, Weber State goes to Boise State, PSU goes to Middle Tennessee, and Northern Arizona is at Tulsa. … Lance Allred dropped to second nationally in rebounding (12.0) after grabbing three in Weber’s loss at Idaho State. That snapped his streak of double-doubles at eight. … PSU’s Jake Schroeder has a stress fracture in his right foot and is expected to miss a couple of more weeks.
