ASU sweeps Stanford behind Diogu’s 39 points

The Spokesman-Review

Ike Diogu scored 20 of his career-high 39 points in the second half as the Arizona State Sun Devils (16-6, 5-5 Pac-10) rallied to beat Stanford Cardinal (12-8, 6-4) 74-67 Thursday night in Tempe, Ariz.

Diogu added 11 rebounds for his 12th double-double for the Sun Devils, who have won three of four and swept the Cardinal for the first time since the 1993-94 season.

Diogu was 16 for 26 from the floor, setting career highs in field goals made and attempted en route to his ninth career 30-point game.

Nick Robinson scored 17 and Matt Haryasz and Chris Hernandez added 12 each to lead Stanford, which saw its six-game winning streak snapped.
