Freeman downs Colfax

Freeman used a 21-point third quarter to clinch the Northeast A League championship, downing Colfax 62-48 Friday at Freeman.

Malcolm Soelberg scored six of his 11 points in the third quarter as the Scotties broke open the game.

Both the Freeman boys and girls teams clinched league titles.

The Scotties (17-2, 5-0)) forced 31 Colfax turnovers while Shane Lewis posted 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Colfax (7-12, 2-3) got 14 points from Brian Danaher.

Kettle Falls 66, Newport 47: Jason Azzarito scored eight of his 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs (11-8, 3-2) put the game on ice. David McFall scored 19 points to lead the Grizzlies (4-14, 0-5).

Cardinals win at Pullman

Medical Lake turned the league race into a jumble by scoring a 43-27 victory at Pullman. The loss knocks Pullman (10-5, 5-2) into a first-place tie with Riverside, with the Cardinals (13-3, 5-3) a game back. Steven Wesley scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds, blocked a pair of shots and collected two steals to lead Medical Lake, which got 15 points from Kevin Broadnax. The Greyhounds shots just 10 of 42 from the field. … Chewelah 44, Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) 40: The Cougars shot 52 percent (18 of 35) from the field to hold off the Eagles at Nine Mile Falls. A.J. Proszek scored 15 points to lead Chewelah (10-7, 5-4). Lakeside (8-8, 4-4) got 14 points from Alex Stillar. … Deer Park 49, Colville 31: The Stags (8-8, 3-5) got 15 points from Nathan Shea to score the win over the host Indians. Matt Weatherby’s 13 points paced Colville (5-12, 1-8).

Almira/Coulee-Hartline needed overtime to hold off Sprague-Harrington 66-61 in a showdown at Hartline. The Falcons (4-14, 3-13) went on a 19-7 run in the fourth quarter to force the extra period. The Warriors (10-8, 9-7) got 16 points from Greg Giese. … Liberty 72, Davenport 35: Jake Ballard came off the Liberty bench to pump in three 3-pointers and score a career-high 13 points to lead the Lancers past the visiting Gorillas. Andy Hodgson scored 13 points and dished off six assists for Liberty (11-7, 11-5). … Northwest Christian 82, Reardan 37: Karl Richardson scored 13 of his game-high 20 points in the first half to spark the Crusaders past the visiting Indians. Josh Greer added 17 points and Jesse Vowels dished off 14 assists for NWC (17-2, 14-2). Reardan (6-12, 5-11) got 16 points from Ian Wagner.

Odessa 49, Valley Christian 37: The Tigers shot 13 for 20 in the fourth quarter score the win at home. Travis Iksic scored 13 points to lead Odessa (6-12, 5-11). The loss dropped the Panthers (10-8, 9-7) into a tie with ACH for fourth place in league with two games left. … Lind-Ritzville 74, Wilbur-Creston 48: The first-place Broncos rolled at Lind, with four players scoring in double figures. Jake Kragt had 13 points and nine rebounds to lead the way.

Curlew cruises past Inchelium

Curlew used a fast start to score a 75-55 victory at Inchelium. The loss drops the Hornets (7-12, 5-9) into a tie with Columbia for the final playoff spot from the North Division with one game left tonight. Curlew (13-6, 10-4) got 16 points from both Bernard Payne and Cameron Kroupa. … Columbia-Hunters 65, Northport 52: The Lions got 27 points from Tyrel Sampson to earn the win at Northport. The Mustangs got 16 points from William Cope. … Selkirk 64, St. Michael’s 47: The Rangers got 17 points from Travis Zimmerman to earn the win over the host Warriors. Garfield-Palouse scored a 58-54 victory over Tekoa-Oakesdale at Palouse to deadlock the league race. Mike Rosser buried a 3-pointer with 2 minutes left to give the Vikings a lead they never surrendered. Gar-Pal got 17 points and 15 rebounds from Luke Louden. Austin Cook poured in 16 points to lead the Nighthawks. … LaCrosse-Washtucna 70, Colton 45: The Tigercats caught fire in the second half and ran away from the host Wildcats. Matt Martin posted 16 points to lead L-W. Kyle Schultheis put up 14 points to lead Colton. … St. John-Endicott 95, Rosalia 55: Jesse Butcher scored 26 points and Bryce Johnson added another 24 to lead the Eagles past the Spartans at St. John.

Lake Roosevelt beats Tonasket

Lake Roosevelt rode Omar Fercha’s 19-point effort to post a 71-43 victory over visiting Tonasket at Coulee Dam. Nick Barnaby added 15 points and Neil Johnson had five steals for the Raiders.
