Red Robin fund-raiser will benefit crisis nursery
Red Robin restaurants will kick off the fifth annual “Burgers with a Heart” fund-raiser on Monday.
During the benefit for the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Spokane’s three Red Robin locations will donate 50 cents from every gourmet burger sold from Monday through Feb. 27.
Monday is celebrity host day and will include appearances by local television personalities at all three area Red Robin restaurants. The celebrities will sell Red Robin hearts for $1, and guests are welcome to decorate and individualize these hearts.
Decorated hearts will be on display in each of the restaurants.
In addition, Spokane-area high schools will participate in the fund-raiser. Each school will host a special night at one of the Red Robin locations, where students will be selling Red Robin hearts for $1.
The high school that raises the most money for the Crisis Nursery will receive the “Spirit with a Heart” traveling trophy, which is currently on display at Mead High School, winner of the 2004 competition.
The Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery is a haven for Spokane-area children who are at risk of abuse or neglect. Visit www.vanessabehan.org for more information.
