Taro is an adult male that has become a shelter favorite since his arrival on Jan. 30. He is a calm dog that seems to take everything in stride. He sits quietly at the kennel door, waiting his turn for attention. He has excellent leash manners and was easy to handle even for the 7-year-old girl who helped take him for a walk. He would be a great walking companion for anyone of any age. After his walks (he’ll need a few extra outings to help him shed a little extra weight) he would be content to lay by your feet until the next one.

Taro is a bargain at any price, but he has been sponsored so his adoption fee is only $54.

If you want to meet Taro, you can visit SpokAnimal C.A.R.E. at 710 N. Napa St. The telephone number is 534-8133. SpokAnimal is open seven days a week. Other adoptions are $79.50 and include spay, rabies vaccine, license and microchip. Purebreds and small dogs are slightly more.
