Amare Stoudemire scored 34 points before his ejection to help the Phoenix Suns overcome Kevin Garnett’s career-high 47 points and beat the skidding Minnesota Timberwolves 122-115 Tuesday night in Minnesota.

Minnesota has lost seven of 10.

Shawn Marion added 28 points, Steve Nash put up 20 points and 16 assists and the Suns withstood a late charge to improve to 14-1 since a 97-93 home loss to Minnesota on Dec. 4.

The game got a little out of hand toward the end. A frustrated Garnett drew a technical foul for talking trash with Steven Hunter, and Stoudemire picked up his first technical a few minutes later.

Fouled hard by Latrell Sprewell on a dunk, Stoudemire tossed the ball at Sprewell – who returned the favor. Both players were given technicals, meaning an automatic ejection for Stoudemire.

Pacers 116, Bucks 99: At Indianapolis, Jermaine O’Neal scored a career-high and NBA season-high 55 points and had 11 rebounds to carry Indiana to a victory over Milwaukee.

The All-Star has made an immediate effect since an arbitrator reduced his 25-game suspension for fighting with Detroit fans to 15 games, with Indiana going 4-1.

Kings 105, Knicks 98: At New York, Maurice Evans came off the bench to score a career-high 16 points, and Sacramento defeated New York for its eighth win in nine road games.

Chris Webber scored 22 points, Peja Stojakovic had 21, Mike Bibby added 19 and Brad Miller 16 for the Kings.

Wizards 112, Nets 88: At Washington, Larry Hughes matched his season high with 33 points and Washington made a franchise-record 14 3-pointers in a victory over New Jersey.

Vince Carter had a season-high 31 points on 15-for-23 shooting for the Nets.

Spurs 100, Lakers 83: Bruce Bowen scored a career-high 24 points – including five 3-pointers – and helped limit Kobe Bryant to 17 points as San Antonio defeated visiting Los Angeles.

San Antonio matched its franchise record by making 15 3-pointers.
