The conference is 13-0 against non-Division I teams but 42-57 in non-conference games. That’s why the league is 26th in RPI. The top team is Portland State at 165. … EWU senior Marc Axton has had games of 36 and 33 points, the top two scoring games in the conference this year. … DeJuan Stevens had 13 points and 10 assists in Northern Arizona’s win over South Carolina State last week. Teammate Rueben Boykin Jr. had 17 rebounds against Texas Tech and has three double-doubles. Boykin is the top sophomore scorer (11.9), rebounder (7.3) and shooter ( .521 field-goal percentage, .824 free throws) in the Big Sky. … Weber State senior Lance Allred has six double-doubles and leads the conference in rebounding (10.9). Wildcats coach Joe Cravens dismissed Dale Parson (four starts, 4.4 ppg) and Rodney Walsh (six games, 14 minutes) after Christmas. … Portland State has a five-game winning streak and Weber State has lost four straight, the last at PSU to open conference play … Montana won its last two games without leader Kamaar Davis, who is academically ineligible. The last win was a 73-67 squeaker at home against NAIA Rocky Mountain.
