In the first weekend of league play, the two 2004 boys state representatives from the GNL square off. On Friday night, 6-0 Medical Lake (third in state last year) travels to 4-4 Lakeside (sixth in state). After a two-game sweep at the Yakima SunDome tournament last weekend, Chewelah’s girls jump right into the teeth of the league. Friday, they travel to Pullman (5-3, second in state last year), and on Saturday, the Cougars are hosts to Lakeside (7-1).
