Coaching history clarified

Recently retired Community Colleges of Spokane soccer coach Cor van der Meer was the first club coach for boys’ soccer at East Valley High School, but not the first varsity coach, as was stated in a story that appeared Sunday.

Player’s name misspelled

The last name of Eastern Washington University basketball player Joanna Chadd was misspelled in a story and headline that appeared Wednesday.

Sheriff’s position mistated

Spokane County Sheriff Mark Sterk suggested to Spokane County commissioners that a new sales tax increase could be sought from voters as one way to fund fixing the county’s emergency communications system but is not “pushing” that tax, as stated in a story that appeared Wednesday.
