Michaels store collects squares to make blankets
The Michaels Arts and Crafts Store on North Division will join other Michaels stores throughout the United States and Canada in the third annual “Warm Up America” and “Blankets for Canada” drives.
Collection bins will be available at the store through Feb. 25 to accept donations of knitted or crocheted squares to be used to make blankets for the homeless and less fortunate.
Participants are encouraged to visit the store, at 7630 N. Division St., to pick up information on how to contribute.
On Feb. 26, volunteers are encouraged to attend a “Joining Party” in the store from noon to 3 p.m. to assemble the blankets from the donated squares.
