Schmunk’s late jumper seals victory for Broncos

Mikaela Schmunk drilled a baseline jumper with 15 seconds left in the game to lift Lind-Ritzville to a 27-25 Bi-County League victory over visiting Northwest Christian (6-8, 5-7) Tuesday.

The low-scoring game was tied at 23 with 20 seconds remaining.

Jenna Kragt pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Broncos (7-7, 7-5).

Krystal Pitkonen and Jessica McFaul each scored seven points to lead the Crusaders.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 61, Wilbur-Creston 37: The visiting Warriors shot 53 percent from the floor to toast the Wildcats (4-10, 4-8). Kami Clark topped all scorers with 18 points to lead ACH (11-2, 10-1). Zenda Reidt had 14 points to lead Wilbur-Creston.

Sulgrove’s 16 spark Springdale

Stephanie Sulgrove shot 6 of 12 from the floor and scored 16 points to lead host Springdale (6-11, 4-7) to a 60-47 victory over St. Michael’s. Megan Vogel and Patty Urann combined for 36 points for the Warriors (2-12, 1-10).

Inchelium 73, Northport 13: Birthday girl Whitney Flett came off the bench to dish off six assists and make eight steals to help the Hornets (12-4, 9-2) past the visiting Mustangs (2-13, 0-11). Steven Carson was 7 of 8 from the field, scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Inchelium. … Wellpinit 70, Columbia-Hunters 34: The visiting Redskins (10-6, 7-4) used a fast start to score the win at Hunters. Samantha Flett pumped in 18 points to spark the win. Jaysanna Kemmerer had nine points to lead the Lions (2-12, 2-9).

Stanley makes it for Newport

Megan Stanley scored 14 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and dished off three assists to lead Newport (8-8) to a 46-34 win over visiting Bonners Ferry. Becky Lowther had 11 points for the Badgers (8-7). … Colton 52, Lakeside-Plummer 48: The Wildcats went on an 18-9 run in the fourth quarter to score the come-from-behind home win. Casey Riedner had 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Rochelle Druffel added 12 points and nine rebounds for Colton (4-11). Corrina Hendrickx led the Knights (14-1) with 15 points. … LaCrosse-Washtucna 57, Odessa 29: The visiting Tigercats pounced on 30 turnovers to earn the win over the Tigers. Jennifer Ayers-Stamper pumped in 13 points and Pam Passmore added 12 to lead L-W (10-4). Lauren Fink’s 10 points paced the Tigers (2-12). The Tigercats finished with 15 turnovers.

Rowena St. Pierre paced Lake Roosevelt with 17 points. … Colfax 59, Liberty 39: The Bulldogs started fast and stayed hot, shooting 51 percent from the field, to bite the visiting Lancers. Meagan Teade scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Colfax (11-6). The Lancers (9-5) got 10 points from Laura Davis. … Tekoa-Oakesdale 58, St. George’s 40: Kaiti Robinson and Molly Smith combined for 11 rebounds to lead the Nighthawks past the visiting Dragons. Mallory Puckett was 10 for 14 from the field and finished with 20 points to lead T-O (11-4). The Dragons (6-10) got 17 points from Jessee Rouse and 16 from Kristen Fix.
