Foothills plans family festival

Foothills Community Church is a longtime rural Spokane Valley church that plans to go back to its roots with a family fun festival next Saturday.

There will be old-fashioned games like a three-legged race, horseshoes, pony rides and the limbo. Events will take place from noon to 5 p.m. at the church, 11102 N. Forker Road.

Other activities will include bingo, face painting, an obstacle course, a basketball toss and a trivia game focusing on Foothills facts. There also will be a car show and craft fair. Food items will be available for purchase.

The event is being co-sponsored by the Foothills Rural Association.

Rummage sale

St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church will host a rummage sale this week. Sale hours will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and next Saturday in the St. John Vianney School’s gym, 410 N. Farr Road.. Lunch items will be available for purchase both days.

Holiday schedule

Valley Assembly of God Church is altering its worship schedule this weekend because of the Fourth of July holiday. Sunday services will begin at 9 and 10:30 a.m. There will be no evening service.

The church is at 15618 E. Broadway Ave.
