Knights shut out RiverHawks
Tommy Hanson (3-0) pitched eight shutout innings and struck out 15 Tuesday night to outduel Jordan Moore and lead the Aloha Knights to a 3-0 win over the Spokane RiverHawks at Spokane Falls Community College.
The first-place Knights improved to 11-2 in the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League and dropped the RiverHawks to 3-12.
Hanson scattered eight hits and walked none before turning over the game to Daniel Turpen, who earned his first save.
Moore (1-3) pitched shutout ball until Jason Rodriquez’s sacrifice fly to left field in the eighth scored Matt Hague. Moore allowed seven hits and two earned runs in 8 1/3 innings.
The three-game series continues today and Thursday at 5 p.m. at SFCC. Spokane travels to Bend on Friday to start a three-game set.
