‘York’ staged at MAC Wednesday
“York,” a one-man play about the only black member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, will be performed Wednesday at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture.
Written by local playwright Bryan Harnetiaux and starring David Casteal, who provides drum rhythms, the 85-minute play tells the story of William Clark’s slave/manservant. It premiered in April at the Spokane Civic Theatre’s Firth J. Chew Studio Theatre.
Wednesday’s performance begins at 6 p.m. in the Eric A. Johnston Memorial Auditorium at the museum, 2316 W. First Ave. Admission is free for museum members, $4 for nonmembers (not suitable for children under 12). Refreshments will be served afterward.
