Swing into summer with spangly danglers

I admit I resisted this season’s bohemian trend at first. (Peasants! Sniff.) And this whole idea of “boho-luxe”? Yeah, right.

But then the sun came out and I promptly decided I would live in flip-flops and flouncy ankle-length skirts all summer. (Fickle, thy name is Pamela.) Suddenly I am attracted to anything gold or turquoise or wooden or dangly, like oversize earrings that make me fear for my earlobes.

Which is why I was instantly smitten with Lucie jewelry ($76-$296, www.luciejewelry.com) a small North Carolina-based line that launched its first official collection – delicate metallic and shell earrings and chunky wooden and turquoise necklaces – this spring.

“I have an absolute passion for fashion and I love to follow trends, but I also wanted to do something that reflected femininity as well as functionality,” said designer Jennifer Wadford, who named the line after a nickname for her younger sister. “I don’t want someone to think they bought a pair of earrings they’re going to wear one time, with one dress.”

Trust me, that won’t be an issue. My problem is, I never want to take them off.
