Application deadline for art market approaching

The Pend Oreille Arts Council will present its first Holiday Art Market Nov. 5 and 6 at the Bonner County Fairgrounds in Sandpoint. The application deadline for artists, businesses and food vendors wishing to participate is Aug. 1. Booths for artists are $85, or $140 for a shared booth. Business booths are $150.

Auditions

The Spokane Civic Theatre, 1020 N. Howard St., is holding auditions for the musical “My Fair Lady” on July 31 and Aug. 1 and 2.

Thirty to 35 roles are available for children ages 6 through 9 and adults. Children’s auditions are at 2 p.m. on July 31. Adults can audition at 3 p.m. July 31 or 6:30 p.m. Aug. 1. Callbacks will be Aug. 2.

Auditioners should prepare a 90-second song that is not from “My Fair Lady” (accompanist provided) and be prepared to move or dance.

Performance dates are Sept. 30 through Oct. 29. For information, call 325-1413.

Nature Camp for ages 6 though 11, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., $89; Finger Fun for ages 3 through 5, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., $21; Art Discovery for ages 3 through 5, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., $21; Art from Nature for ages 3 through 5, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., $21; Dinosaurs for ages 3 through 5, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., $21; Recipes for Fun for ages 6 through 11, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., $22; Creative Investigators for ages 6 through 11, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., $22; Puppet Theater for ages 6 through 11, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., $22; Art Effects for ages 6 through 11, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., $22; and Watercolor Painting and Mixed Media Design for ages 6 through 11, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., $22. A bag lunch is available daily from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for $5.

•Monart Drawing School is offering day camps for children ages 4 and older July 26 through 28 at Spokane Art Supply, 1303 N. Monroe St.

Sessions include It’s All About Me for ages 4 through 5, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 1 to 3 p.m.; and Native American Culture, for ages 6 through 8 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and ages 9 and older from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost for each class is $65.
