Well, that’s one way to wax the competition
If Sheryl Crow wrote a song about her bicyclist boyfriend Lance Armstrong, the title would be simple and to the point: “Make ‘em suffer.” “His little boy (Luke) always says, ‘Make ‘em suffer, Daddy,’ so it definitely would incorporate that phrase,” Crow says.
The 43-year-old rocker, on her second Tour de France, is relishing seeing Armstrong power his way to a possible seventh straight win.
“I’m lucky; I’m one of the only women I know of in the history of the Tour that’s got to spend time with the team,” Crow says.
“Breakfast with the team … then I speak to people or go to the bus and spend time with Lance. In the evening, he goes to massage and I go to exercise with a run or on the bike … and then we eat dinner with the team.”
However, there is one drawback to being on the road with a professional cyclist.
“He’s better about shaving his legs than I am,” Crow said. “The pressure’s on me to keep my legs smooth.”
Just not her kind of racket
Martina Navratilova has settled her lawsuit against a company that markets credit cards to gays and lesbians.
The tennis star sued Do Tell Inc. in federal court in March because she disagreed with the way the company’s Rainbow Card was being marketed.
Navratilova, who had allowed her image to be used for marketing purposes, objected to the card’s association with cable TV shows “The L Word” and “Queer as Folk,” calling them “depraved.”
At least somebody’s showing some restraint
A Los Angeles judge has issued a temporary restraining order against a woman who is allegedly trying to distribute a sex tape of her and actor Colin Farrell.
Nicole Narain is barred from selling, distributing or displaying the 15-minute tape that shows her and Farrell having sex. The next hearing is scheduled for Aug. 10.
It does sound like violence is his style
Rapper Gucci Mane has been arrested on an aggravated assault charge stemming from a fight earlier this month between a promoter and people at Mane’s record label.
The promoter was injured and later filed a complaint with police. Mane’s lawyer says he wasn’t involved.
On the day his debut album, “Trap House,” was released in May, the 25-year-old rapper posted a $100,000 bond on a murder charge from an earlier incident.
So this Revolver is no longer loaded?
Felony heroin and cocaine possession charges filed in 2003 against rocker Scott Weiland have been dismissed now that he’s successfully completed a rehab program.
Weiland’s battle with heroin addiction was one reason his former band, Stone Temple Pilots, broke up.
The 2003 arrest coincided with his formation of supergroup Velvet Revolver with former Guns N’ Roses members Slash and Duff McKagan.
