The Kootenai Humane Society is bursting at the seams with felines. More than 100 cats and kittens need homes. Among them is the sweet and gorgeous Lil Punkie, who loves sharing his hammock with his cage mates. He was one of many who were dropped off young and fostered in a home until he was old enough to mingle with the public. Boxes of kittens as young as 3 days old have shown up on the shelter steps this spring. A summer special is under way through August.
