Costumes, props sale will benefit CYT

The Spokesman-Review

The Christian Youth Theater-Spokane is putting on a really big show Saturday.

It’s called a warehouse sale.

The organization, which offers theater arts training for children ages 6 to 18, is selling costumes, sets and other artifacts it has used in plays over the past seven-plus years. The sale will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1027 E. Marietta Ave. in the parking lot of the Metallic Arts building.

“This is the first year we’ve done it,” Bliss Lanier, CYT area coordinator, said. “Every time we do a show, we pretty much keep the costumes and set pieces.”

CYT families also are contributing by selling treasures from their homes. Lanier said when people clean their closets, many donate clothes to CYT. Shoppers looking for 1980s clothes could be in luck as Lanier said that seems to be donors’ favorite era of clothes to get rid of.

Money from the sale will go back to the organization to meet needs ranging from scholarship funds for students to office and building supplies. For more information about CYT-Spokane, go to www.cytspokane.com.
