CLEAN UP
Thu., June 9, 2005
If you plan to clean your carpets at home, follow these steps for good results:
• Pre-treat spots and traffic areas with a cleaning solution in a spray bottle.
• Go easy on the soap and chemicals. Use only as much as the manufacturer recommends. Too much can act as a magnet for future soiling.
• Finally, don’t leave the carpet soaking wet.
Excess water can damage the seams and backing material.

Local journalism is essential.
Give directly to The Spokesman-Review's Northwest Passages community forums series -- which helps to offset the costs of several reporter and editor positions at the newspaper -- by using the easy options below. Gifts processed in this system are not tax deductible, but are predominately used to help meet the local financial requirements needed to receive national matching-grant funds.
