‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ opens this weekend in Coeur d’Alene

The Lake City Playhouse in Coeur d’Alene opens the Andrew Lloyd Webber hit “Jesus Christ Superstar” this weekend.

This 1971 rock opera tells the story of Jesus as a pop celebrity. The show spawned several hit songs, including “I Don’t Know How to Love Him.”

A cast including Tim Fridley, Stu Cabe, Callie Cabe and Roger Welch is directed by Noel Barbuto.

The show runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday and continues March 10-13, 17-20 and 24-26. Showtimes are 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. on Sundays and 7 p.m. on Thursdays.

Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, $8 for children. Thursdays are discounted. Call (208) 667-1323.
