Pedestrian bridge

Students from Alcott School, at Eighth and Custer, used the newly opened pedestrian crossing over Interstate 90 in December 1956. Electric cables kept ice and snow melted on the walkway and ramps. The north pedestal on the right side of the photo was on the site of the former Alcott School.
