Coming Sunday: Buck Knives

Moving to Post Falls from California will reduce Buck Knives’ labor and energy costs, the company has said. But equally important to Buck Knives’ prosperity is “lean manufacturing,” a method of wringing waste out of the manufacturing process.

Using lean manufacturing, Buck Knives has dramatically reduced the amount of time each knife spends in assembly.

“It’s made us faster and more flexible,” said CJ Buck, president and CEO.
