Nine young women competed for the title of Miss Greater Spokane in February 1972: front, from left, were Julie Barnard, Cindy Haffner, Linda Kenny and Liz Lane; standing, from left, were June Leahy, Sherri Newcomer, Linda McNett and Linda Rock. Not pictured was Susan Krume. The winner was Leahy of Ferris High School. Leahy said she liked Carol King, big salads and unusual clothes, according to an article in the Spokane Chronicle. She went on to represent Greater Spokane in the Miss Washington-Universe pageant.
