Northeast center to hold dinner

Northeast Community Center’s president Mike Church announced that Mayor James West will be the keynote speaker at the center’s annual dinner at 6:30 p.m. April 7 at the center, 4001 N. Cook St.

The event also is an opportunity to recognize volunteers and organizations that have made significant contributions to the center over the past year.

All Northeast area residents and friends of the center are invited to attend. Tickets are $10.

Reservations are recommended. For more information and to make reservations, call 487-1603 by April 1.

Easter egg hunt at Hays Park

The Northeast Community Center is planning an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday at Hays Park, at Gordon and Crestline. Everyone is a winner at this flashlight egg hunt.

Pre-registered participants are divided into three age groups with ages 4 to 6 beginning their egg hunt at 6:45 p.m.

Youth ages 7 to 9 start at 7:45 p.m., and ages 10 to 13 start at 8:30 p.m. Cost is $8 per child.

Participants who find a gold or silver egg win a special prize. Call 482-0708 to register.
