CVSD Facilities District meeting Monday

The Spokesman-Review

The Central Valley School District Board of Directors will hear a report summarizing written comments of more than 1,000 district patrons regarding a proposed facilities concept Monday night.

The meeting will be 6:30 p.m. at Evergreen Middle School, 14221 E. 16th Ave.

The comments from the community were compiled by the Community Facilities Review Committee during the past several months. The school board voted in November to take the district’s proposed facilities concept out to the community for input before making a final decision.

The district is proposing a facilities plan to address school building needs in the face of increased enrollment.

The proposed plan calls for building two new schools in the northeast part of the district, remodeling and updating six other buildings, relocating, replacing and transitioning some schools for other uses.

The board will not take action on the proposed concept at the meeting Monday. It will likely defer action until the next board meeting April 11, said Melanie Rose, district spokeswoman.
