The Los Angeles Angels are tossing customers and fans a curve by implying they play home games in the City of Angels, a state Assembly committee decided Tuesday.

The Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism and Internet Media Committee voted 9-0 to approve a bill that would require the Angels to disclose on tickets, ads and other promotional material that they are based in Anaheim.

Grievance filed for Rincon

Penalized 10 days on Monday for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs, Minnesota Twins reliever Juan Rincon asked the players’ union file a grievance over the ban, and paperwork was submitted, union chief operating officer Gene Orza said.

“ Atlanta third baseman Chipper Jones wasn’t in the lineup for the seventh straight game, and the Braves acknowledged that his ailing left foot might be more than just a bone bruise.

“ The Los Angeles Dodgers activated left-hander Wilson Alvarez from the 15-day disabled list, making room on their active roster by optioning right-hander Buddy Carlyle to Triple-A Las Vegas of the Pacific Coast League.

“ Red Sox right fielder Trot Nixon dropped his appeal and started serving a two-game suspension stemming from Boston’s April 15 scuffle at Tampa Bay.
