Maybe they’ll end up having a shotgun wedding

For Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, happiness really is a warm gun. In an interview published in the upcoming issue of Vanity Fair, Jolie says she and Pitt came to trust each other while taking gun training for the upcoming “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”

They play married assassins in the movie.

“You had to trust each other to cross under or over and only move when the other person moves, so the trust, when somebody’s got a loaded gun at your back. … It made us trust each other quickly,” Jolie says.

Rumors have swirled that Jolie, 29, is romantically involved with Pitt, 41, who recently split with wife Jennifer Aniston. Last week, photos were published showing Pitt and Jolie on a beach in Africa with her 3-year-old son, Maddox.

“I knew nothing about their marriage. … It’s obviously been difficult with all this … going on,” the twice-divorced Jolie tells Vanity Fair, adding: “I’ve been tied to everybody I ever worked with.”

Do you take this ogre to be your lawfully wedded wife?

Speaking of romantic rumors, Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz reportedly are set to tie the knot.

The British tabloid News of the World claims an aide to Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne said they’ll have to miss daughter Kelly‘s gig in London on Saturday, because they’ll be at Justin’s nuptials in the south of France.

A Diaz spokesperson called the report “totally false,” while Timberlake’s rep declined to comment.

But one thing’s for sure: The couple will be on screen together – vocally speaking, that is – in the upcoming “Shrek 3.” Timberlake voices a young King Arthur, while Diaz reprises her role as Shrek’s wife, Princess Fiona.

‘SNL’ goes old school

Will Ferrell is returning to “Saturday Night Live” – for one night, anyway.

Ferrell will host the show May 14, his first appearance since leaving “SNL” in 2002 after seven seasons as a cast member, NBC announced Tuesday.

Having staked out a successful movie career (“Old School,” “Elf,” “Anchorman”), Ferrell co-stars with Nicole Kidman in the upcoming “Bewitched.”

And speaking of old school …

After waiting for more than 35 years, Cream fans were treated to the reunion of Eric Clapton‘s rock supergroup at a concert Monday at Royal Albert Hall.

Clapton, 60, Jack Bruce, 61, and Ginger Baker, 65, took the stage at the same venue where they played their 1968 farewell show.

“Thanks for waiting all those years,” Clapton told the sellout crowd. “We’ll probably play everything we know – we’ll play as long as we can.”

Still ‘Idol’-ing away her youth

Ten former “American Idol” contestants are involved in a very different kind of competition this week – on the syndicated game show “Family Feud.”

Besides DeGarmo, the female team includes last season’s runner-up, Diana DeGarmo, along with Julia DeMato, Amy Adams, Vanessa Olivarez and Kimberley Locke. Ricky Smith, A.J. Gil, Jon Peter Lewis, George Huff and Matt Rogers are on the men’s side.

“It was so much fun. It felt like we were right back on the ‘American Idol’ again, living and breathing each moment together,” said DeGarmo, a high school senior.
