LCSC pounds Zags, who head to big series

Joey Dyche went 5 for 5 with four runs batted in as Lewis-Clark State College defeated Gonzaga 18-11 in non-conference college baseball at Lewiston on Wednesday.

Gonzaga travels to Los Angeles for the deciding West Coast Conference Coast Division series with Loyola Marymount University this weekend.

GU is one game ahead of the Lions in the standings and needs to win two of the four games – scheduled Friday through Sunday – to claim the divisional crown.

Auto racing

Events scheduled at Stateline Speedway were canceled because of inclement weather. The scheduled classes (Road Runners, Fever 4’s and Bump to Pass) will resume on Wednesday.
