Now she’s talking to show support for other teens
Ellen DeGeneres has revealed that her stepfather molested her when she was a teenager. The talk-show host tells Allure magazine that he insisted on feeling her breast while DeGeneres’ mother was fighting breast cancer.
She said the incident later escalated into “other things” and her stepfather, now deceased, tried to break into her bedroom.
“I had to kick a window out and escape and sleep in a hospital all night long,” DeGeneres said.
She added that “it’s important for teenage girls out there to hear that there are different ways to say no. And if it ever happens to them, they should tell someone right away.”
DeGeneres, 47, said the incident had no effect on her sexual orientation, and that she hopes she and girlfriend Portia de Rossi are “together the rest of our lives.”
“I never would have thought my life would have turned out this way,” said DeGeneres. “To have money. Or to have a gorgeous girlfriend. I just feel so lucky with everything in my life right now.”
Oh, baby, Hasselbeck’s back
Six weeks after giving birth to a baby girl, a glowing Elisabeth Hasselbeck returned Wednesday as co-host of ABC’s “The View.”
“It doesn’t look like you’ve had a baby, it looks like you’ve had a massive breast implant,” co-host Meredith Vieira told her.
Former “Survivor” contestant Hasselbeck, 27, who is married to New York Giants quarterback Tim Hasselbeck, gave birth to the couple’s first child, Grace Elisabeth, on April 6.
“She likes to eat a lot and sleep a lot – just like her father,” Hasselbeck said.
Hey, Kasch – hide that stash
Cody Kasch, who plays troubled teen Zach Young on the hit series “Desperate Housewives,” has been charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession.
Plainclothes officers arrested Kasch, 17, at about 11 p.m. Tuesday in the East Village in Manhattan after they spotted him allegedly smoking marijuana in public.
He was charged with fifth-degree drug possession, given a ticket and released. No court date was set.
Lohan looking for a meatier role
Lindsay Lohan says she has met with “Mission: Impossible III” director J.J. Abrams about the possibility of co-starring with Tom Cruise in the third installment of the film series, based on the 1960s TV show.
“If so, I’ll be in training for a few weeks, putting on some muscles,” Lohan told “Access Hollywood.”
The 18-year-old actress attributes her recent weight loss to simply shedding some baby fat – despite rumors of an eating disorder – but tells Teen Vogue, “Compared to a lot of actresses my age, I’m actually overweight.”
A legend in his own … oh, never mind
Adam Sandler received his star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame on Tuesday, tied to the May 27 release of his next film, a remake of “The Longest Yard.”
The 38-year-old former “Saturday Night Live” player, whose big-screen credits include “Mr. Deeds,” “Happy Gilmore,” “The Wedding Singer” and “The Waterboy,” said that when he told his family he was pursuing an acting career, his relatives told him that he would follow in the footsteps of some big stars.
“I didn’t become any of those people. But today I can officially say I am now the legendary Adam Sandler.”
