CYT staging ‘Snoopy!!!’
The Christian Youth Theater is presenting “Snoopy!!!,” the sequel to “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” at Spokane First Nazarene Church, 9004 N. Country Homes Blvd.
The troupe will perform at 7 p.m. today, Friday and next Saturday, with matinees at 3 p.m. today, next Saturday and May 29. Special school-day performances will be Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Advance tickets are $7 for adults and $6 for children. Today’s matinee performance is $5, and teachers can get discounted tickets for the school-day performances. All tickets will be $7 at the door.

Ice cream social
St. Joseph Family Center, 1016 N. Superior St., is hosting an ice cream social today from 1 to 4 p.m.
The center, which was founded by the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia in 1890, wants to thank everyone who has contributed or is connected to it. The event will include historical displays, games for the children, tours of the facilities and live music.

Church dedication
Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 4320 S. Conklin St., is celebrating its facilities expansion with special worship services Sunday at 8 and 10:30 a.m..
The expansion includes new preschool and Sunday school classrooms, a welcome center, a full-service kitchen, additional parking and a new fellowship hall. A group of retired men and women, the Laborers for Christ, assisted in the construction.
The Rev. Warren Shumacher will speak at both services.

Musical weekend
• Heritage Congregational Church, 1801 E. 29th Ave., is honoring its retiring organist of nine years, Lottie Evans, on Sunday.
Music Appreciation Sunday will include the 10 a.m. worship service. The service will feature Rev. Chet Nelson speaknig on “The Holy Trinity: the Music of God.”
The celebration of music will continue at 3 p.m. with a recital by Evans’ student, Amy Whisenand.

Open houses
• Tshimakain Creek Camp is offering an open house on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
The camp, which offers free camp experience to disadvantaged youth through the Union Gospel Mission is 35 miles northwest of Spokane. The afternoon will include the dedication of a recently constructed chapel.

Appreciation luncheon
St. Margaret’s Shelter, 101 E. Hartson Ave., is presenting its 2005 Appreciation Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
The event will begin with a tour of the facility, and lunch will be served at noon. A former resident will share her story of living with her three sons at the shelter, which is sponsored by Catholic Charities.

Rummage sales
• Garland Church, 2011 W. Garland Ave., is hosting a rummage sale and quilt show today from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.The proceeds will benefit the church’s overseas missions to Ukraine and South Africa. The quilt show, Quilted Blessings, will feature quilts sewn by the women of the church for 34 children currently living in the Otchiy Dom Orphanage in Ukraine.
The quilt show, which runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., will be inside the church, and the rummage sale will be in the church’s gymnasium.
