Pullman is ranked fourth in the latest Washington baseball rankings, and the Greyhounds’ first-round state opponent, Ephrata, is eighth. If Chewelah wins its first game, second-ranked East Valley-Yakima might be waiting for the unranked Cougars in the quarterfinals. Top-ranked Ridgefield is on Pullman’s half of the state bracket, but the two would not meet until the semifinals. With a win, Pullman could face seventh-ranked Naches Valley Saturday evening for a spot in the 2A semifinals.
