Hampton Inn planned for CdA
A Hampton Inn & Suites is coming to the Riverstone development in Coeur d’Alene.
Construction will start in March on the 100-room hotel, with a targeted opening date of March 2007. The owner is AmeriTel Inns Inc. of Boise, which owns and operates 11 hotels in western states.
The Hampton Inn will be located at the southeast corner of Riverstone Drive and Beebe Boulevard, near the Riverstone Cinemas. Construction costs for the hotel are in the $4 million to $5 million range, said Scott Ableman, AmeriTel’s chief financial officer.
The hotel will include a pool, fitness center and spa, and business center with computers, copy machine and fax. Some balcony suites will offer views of the Spokane River.
Hampton Inns, which are part of the Hilton Hotels brand, cater to a mix of business and leisure travelers. North Idaho’s rapid growth prompted AmeriTel to consider a second hotel in the area, Ableman said. The company also operates the AmeriTel Inn in Coeur d’Alene.
Riverstone is a mixed-use development on a former sawmill site, located between Interstate 90 and Northwest Boulevard.
The Hampton Inn is the second hotel planned for that immediate area. A Holiday Inn Express is scheduled to open next spring just outside the Riverstone development, on Seltice Way.
