Colfax’s trip to Freeman today will decide the NEA’s football title. The Bulldogs (5-3, 3-2) are a game behind Freeman (6-2, 4-1), but they beat the Scotties 16-10 earlier this season at Colfax. A win by the Bulldogs would bring the two teams into a tie and give Colfax the tie-breaker. A Colfax loss and a Newport (3-5, 2-3) win over Kettle Falls (3-6, 1-4) would give Newport second place and a berth into the play-in games of the state playoffs.
